Online Patient Group
What is the Online Patient Group (OPG)?
The Online Patient Group (OPG) is a group which has been set up for patients who would like to be more involved in developing local healthcare services but are unable to attend meetings.
We realise that our patients are generally very busy and may not have time to come to the surgery for meetings, therefore through our "online group" we can engage with our patients, exchange views and get feedback via e-mail.
It gives you a say in how in how services are planned, developed and evaluated, by developing a good working relationship with the practice staff and GPs.
You will be able to make your own comments and raise general queries about the Bell Surgery Practice online.
We will send you e mails asking for your opinion on a range of topics.
You decide how often and when you would like to answer.
Our only stipulation is that you must be a registered patient or a carer of a registered patient at the Bell Surgery.
Benefits of becoming a member By participating in this group you will help the practice to provide an accessible and responsive service and you will be amongst the first to hear about news and updates.
Who will be in the group? We aim to gather patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
But I don’t come to surgery often. Is my opinion valued? It is important we have a group which is representative of our local community and includes as many different people as possible so every opinion counts
What if I don’t have email? No problem. We can send out the questions to you in the post instead.
How will I know my opinion has made a difference? We will collate your views and discuss them at our Practice Meeting. We will keep you updated about our anticipated changes as a result of your contributions as a group.
What the OPG is not about
We will not deal with personal medical issues or individual patient complaints as there is already a well established procedure for these areas at the Practice.
